Description: Roeg's editing here is absolutely brilliant. it's a world away from Hollywood's continuity style. he intercuts powerful images, particularly the photo spoiling, to create a sense of unease and tension both symbolically and temporally. his use of sound is also exceptional, from the eerie silence to the diagetic sound effects used to puncture the moment. |

steinerredeemed ::: Favorites I saw this film on LSD when I was 20 and it changed my life forever. Roeg was SO far ahead of everyone else directing (except Polanksi). A startling film for people who know how to LOOK at film about quaantum physics, time, space, geometry, and most of all, Grief and Guilt and how they shape perception and choice. Watch it thirty times. 07-06-01 14:29:58 __________________________________________________
puppydogmkii ::: Favorites Oh dude, c'mon, how can you miss that cut at the end with Julie Christie screaming and teh match cut to the drill?!?! 07-05-23 17:44:03 __________________________________________________
rvsanten ::: Favorites I totally agree. I'm a big fan of this film. The first time I saw it I was only 13 years old and it kept me terrified for months. Came to love it later. To me it's one of the most powerful movies ever made. Suggestion: make it a movienight and watch The Comfort of Strangers first, then take a short break and then watch Don't Look Now. 07-05-07 18:13:16 __________________________________________________
nyroneuk ::: Favorites An editing masterclass. I saw this film a couple of years ago, and it's affected me more as a film than many others, this is TRUE horror, not the pre-packaged focus-group tested BS we get rammed down our throats today. 07-04-17 19:10:12 __________________________________________________ |
