I bought Magix Music Maker a week ago ... it is also a joy to sample some music by myself and I found also some free tracks and loops I could add. dance-industry (com) also has a great value of music with the Creative Common license.

Youtube has free music if you click Test Tube at the bottom and go to Audio Swap. Once or twice I have thought about making an audio wav or mp3 on my sound recorder by using audio swap to play the song then hitting cancel, then using that song in another video. There are some nice tunes on there too.

Good ideas Tim & thanks for those links. Although i rarely use music, it would be nice to use somebody else other than Kevin McLeod :)

Thanks Tim for that favourited so I can check the links later. I use a lot of music in vids and did to legal media law as part of media course. Did you know why djs talk over the end of music to save money, Once you talk or sing over a track they don't have to pay royalties for the full song. Anytime I use music which is a lot I sing myself with a word or two change a ref to the artist writer website and seems to be ok. Never used KevinMcLeod and won't LOL

Thanks, Tim. I'll check those out. We've developed a pretty decent list of sources.

Hi Tim. I went to a couple of Royalty Free sites, and from what I understand, the term Royalty-Free means that once you PAY for it, THEN you can use it how you like. I was initially under the impression that it meant it was FREE, which doesn't seem to be the case.

They want you to pay them to use the royalty free music.

For what it's worth. I use a couple music generating programs to get music. One that I really love is Music Maestro. Another new one that just came out is Soundbooth by Adobe. If you don't mind spending a little bit of time, you can put together some waycool stuf using looping sopftware like Acid Pro. Finally, youcan find all kinds of royalty free music libraries on ebay for very reasonable prices.
