dude, i wasn't being literal, neither was existozip. And I've got to say, you're backing arguments are weak. As you say Shakespeare has been popular for 4 centuries but he's not like Moore (who focuses mainly on the issues of the day). Readers of Moore at the time would have been younger than him remember, so Moore is like an authority figure for those born in the 60s/70s

What generation you belong to is defined by the year you are born in. Alan Moore was born in 1952. There were a large amount of young people in the 1980s who loved the book "On the Road". Does that mean Jack Kerouac is of that generation? Shakespeare has been popular for 400 years, what generation is he apart of?

Nah, Moore's generation is the young people of the 80s!

i don't assume that the idea comes from nothing. i think we are conduits. the ideas exist somewhere, we just tap into them. i like alan moore's conception of ideaspace, which he's mentioned elsewhere.

Unless you are around 50, he is not part of your generation. Also he is recognized as a genius in both the comic world as well as mainstream culture so I do not know why this wouldn't continue after his death.

The most under appreciated writer of our generation! Thx for posting these. I wonder if people will recognize his genius after his death...
